Fan-Made 2013 Pokémon Game Is Everything We Wanted Sword And Shield To Be

Nintendo and Pokémon fans couldn’t wait for the unveiling of the upcoming Nintendo Switch games, Pokémon Sword and Shield.

For the first time, Pokémon RPGs are headed to a main console instead of a handheld, and with the power of the Switch, everyone had high hopes for the games.

Unfortunately, things seemed to have soured a little as it’s emerged that Sword and Shield are only going to have a small number of Pokémon to capture, leaving fans VERY annoyed.

In light of the news of just how small the games’ Pokédex is, a Redditor by the name of Sorcerer99 shared a GfyCat find from way back in 2013, when an incredibly skilled Pokémon fan created their own game, entitled Pokémon Generations.

The 2013 fan-made title, which bears a watermark from @ThePokeDude, look insanely cool and features classic critters like Pikachu, Squirtle and Charmander engaging in battles right out in the open, instead of during a dedicated scene.

As for the controversy surrounding Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, it’s not looking too great for Nintendo, as fans are seriously p*ssed off.

A YouTube video uploaded by the house of Mario shows off some of the gameplay of the upcoming Sword and Shield, and it’s caused an uproar amongst long-standing fans of the franchise.

At the time of writing, the video, entitled ‘Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Gameplay – Nintendo Treehouse: Live | E3 2019’, is sitting at a very worrying 19k likes to 68k dislikes.

Unless Nintendo really pulls it out of the bag here, there’s going to be a lot of sadness around the release of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield later this year…

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will release exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, November 15 2019.
