Final Fantasy 16 Preload Times – Everything You Need To Know

With Final Fantasy 16 releasing later this week, let’s take a look at how and when you can preload the game on PlayStation 5.

For those who cannot wait a minute longer to dive into the world of Valisthea, you will be able to preload Final Fantasy 16 to give yourself a head start when the game fully releases.

With the JRPG releasing worldwide on June 22, here’s how you can bypass the long download times by starting it a few days before.

Final Fantasy 16 Preload Times – How to Preload

FF16 will be available to preload as of June 20 – two days before the game launches. An exact time has yet to be confirmed but going by other preloads, you can expect it to be just after midnight.

Once the option to preload becomes available, follow these simple steps:

  • Find FF16 on your PlayStation Store
  • If you haven’t already preordered**, either select the Standard or Deluxe Edition
  • Once you have purchased the game, you will then see an option to preload

** If you have already preordered the game, you can preload from your library instead of heading to the PlayStation store.

Download Size

With Final Fantasy 16 taking up a whopping 90.18GB of storage for your PlayStation 5, preloading will definitely be the right choice if you don’t want to be waiting around on launch day. As a result, make sure you have enough storage available before you start preloading.

Additionally, Square Enix recently announced that there will be a small day one patch for FF16 so that may add on some extra GB. However, the patch is not necessary to play the game if you’re unable to download it.
