Gears of War movie and series coming to Netflix

Gears of War is not only being adapted into a live-action movie, but it’s also getting an animated series and both are coming to Netflix.

Talk of a Gears of War movie has been around for years. However, talk of this movie has been around for so long, it’s unclear whether the Netflix project will be one and the same or something entirely different.

Hire Dave and Terry for Gears of War!

Throughout the years of a Gears of War movie talk, WWE Hall of Famer and star of Guardians of the Galaxy, Dave Bautista has made it no secret that he wants to play a live-action Marcus Phoenix. Furthermore, Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Clews has also expressed his desire to play Augustus Cole aka The Cole Train.

The news of the Gears of War Netflix projects was announced in celebration of the 16^th anniversary of the iconic Xbox series. However, not only will we get a live-action movie as well as an “adult” animated series, but “potential for more stories” has been teased.

When will the Gears of War Netflix projects be released?

At this time, there has been no time scale as to when the movie or series might release. That being said, given that the projects have only just been announced, their releases might at least be a couple of years away.

Who do you want to see star in the movie?

I think it’s hard to argue against Dave Bautista as Marcus and Terry Clews as Cole. I’ve also seen calls for The Punisher and The Walking Dead actor, Jon Bernthal to play Dom Santiago. Which I believe would be excellent choices.

Gears of War has such a vast array of characters, we could play this casting game all day. However, if Julia Garner is cast to play Anya Stroud, that would be perfect for me. I also believe John Cena would nail the humour of Damon Baird and would have great chemistry with Dave Bautista.
