Although the Apex Legends battle pass hasn’t even been released, there’s already a way for you to get it for an absolute steal if you’re savvy enough.

A leak yesterday revealed the following image, which suggests when it does come, the battle pass will set you back 950 Apex coins.

You can currently pick up a pack of 1000 Apex coins for $9.99 USD (£7.99 GBP), making the battle pass just shy of that amount. However, GamesRadar has found a way for you to get the pass for just $4.99 / £3.99 – but only if you’re a PC or Xbox One player.

The hack, if you can call it that, suggests you sign up for either Origin Access Basic (PC) or EA Access Basic (Xbox), both of which are subscription services. Signing up to these will cost you the $4.99 upfront, but they’ll give you a whole host of goodies, and you can cancel straight away. If you don’t, you’ll be billed monthly, because y’know…it’s a subscription service.

So what do you get for signing up? An exclusive skin for the VK-47 Flatline and a card badge, along with 1000 Apex coins for you to buy whatever you like with – including the 950 coin battle pass (when it’s available, and if Respawn doesn’t change the price following the leak).

If you’re interested, you can sign up for the subscription for PC with Origin Access Basic, or Xbox with EA Access Basic. If you sign up, make sure to check the terms and conditions of cancellation, which you can do right here, or through your Xbox Account.

If you decide to stick with the subscription then there are even more perks for you, including a 10-hour early access trial for upcoming EA games, plus a load of already-released games will be available to download and play – for free (including Titanfall 2, which shares a universe with Apex Legends).

Perhaps best of all if the 10% discount that subscribers get on future EA purchases. All in all, it’s not a bad subscription service if you’re really invested in Apex Legends right now.

Here’s hoping the battle pass arrives sooner than later – and hopefully the free coins will still be available!
