The highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 may be releasing as early as 2024 according to hints from Rockstar’s owner. Here’s what we know.
Perhaps every gamer on the planet is eagerly awaiting the next instalment in the GTA franchise. Luckily for them, they may not have to wait much longer. This news comes courtesy of Rockstar parent Take-Two Interactive’s expectations for the company’s upcoming fiscal year. This was detailed in a recent report.
Grand Theft Auto 6 Could Launch As Early As 2024
The company’s latest yearly earnings report shows that they predict on earning a whopping $8bn in net bookings for the year starting in April 2024. This is the result of “several groundbreaking titles.”
“In Fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in Net Bookings and over $1 billion in Adjusted Unrestricted Operating Cash Flow,” the report reads. “We expect to sustain this momentum by delivering additional growth in our operating results in Fiscal 2026 and beyond.”

“For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success,” they state.
Future Plans for Take-Two
Considering the company earned $5.3bn in financial year 2023 and only $3.5bn the year prior, it is safe to assume they have something big up their sleeves. Although the report doesn’t specifically mention Grand Theft Auto 6, it is the one title that will increase their numbers significantly.
It is worth noting that the company also has plans for Ken Levine’s upcoming IP, Judas as well as a new Bioshock title from Cloud Chamber. There are also reports of an upcoming Mafia game from Hangar 13. However, it is doubtful these will fetch them that $8bn or more net earnings.

Grand Theft Auto 6 on the other hand would easily hit these numbers. With the previous instalment, GTA 5, selling over 180 million copies and earning $1bn in just 24 hours, there is no doubt the sequel will perform just as well.
However, as of now, this is purely speculation that Take-Two is yet to confirm.
