There’s been no official word on Grand Theft Auto 6, though it’s a pretty safe bet to assume that it’s in the works for the next generation of console gaming. We’ve been hearing rumours of the game for a while now, but a new website update has raised eyebrows once again.
The Rockstar Games website has just received a bit of a makeover that’s left gamers a little confused, because no-one seems to know what it points to.
The new artwork doesn’t seem like anything we’ve seen from the Rockstar Games universe so far, so it’s left people scratching their hands and wondering if it’s possible that this is tied to GTA 6 in some way.
There’s always the very real possibility that the new artwork is simply just a new look for Rockstar, but it could be that the company is gearing up for a pretty exciting reveal.
What’s even more curious is that the Rockstar Games YouTube channel is reportedly now displaying a privately-listed video, which could suggest an announcement really is on the cards. There’s no way to prove this, but fans are claiming Rockstar’s 258 videos have now increased in 259.
What all this means remains to be seen, but personally I’m hoping for a GTA 6 teaser trailer…
With the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X due to land on store shelves at the end of the year, it’s about time we got some info on the next addition to the incredibly lucrative GTA franchise.
We know that the company is gearing up for the next gen of gaming thanks to job listings recently spotted on the Rockstar website – but it doesn’t sound like it’s for a familiar IP.
As shared to Reddit, a series of new job listings confirm the studio is gearing up with a “next-gen” project – and the specifics are pretty confusing.
There’s quite a few job listings from Rockstar, but the ones we’re looking at are for Rockstar Toronto. The branch of the company is specifically seeking a “a senior graphics programmer to help breathe life, realism and fun into our next-generation games.”
This is where it starts to get interesting though, as one of the jobs specifies what a part of the role would entail. The listing explains the ideal candidate would have “an obsessive eye for detail and drapery in respect of garments of all types, and an acute awareness of how fabrics and materials age and degrade over time.”
Does that sound like GTA 6 to you…?
