Easter Egg Seemingly Reveals Call of Duty Battle Royale Release Date

Although Activision and Infinity Ward are keeping quiet on the supposedly-upcoming Battle Royale mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the leaks are coming thick and fast.

So far we’ve seen a glitched-out menu that revealed a lot of the BR features, and some people even managed to squeeze into the map that, according to Activision, doesn’t exist.

There’s also been some “inside sources” claiming that the BR mode is set to drop in March, meaning we could be just a couple of days from launch. Now it seems that an in-game Easter egg could be pointing to the same, so fingers crossed that this is happening!

As spotted by @BattleRoyaleCoD on Twitter, the game’s newly-introduced Bazaar map seems to hint that we could be seeing BR mode as soon as March 3rd.

The rumour stems from an Easter egg in Bazaar, which appears to show a blank map with the date “03/03.”

Interestingly, it’s been claimed that the mode, supposedly known as “Warzone,” will release as a standalone game for free, offering the option for players to “upgrade” to the full Modern Warfare game. For those who already own MW, it’ll be available via the currently-greyed out section of the game menu.

It seems like a fun way to do it, especially if it wants to compete with other Battle Royale games on the market.

The current belief is that the BR map will support a mammoth 200 players at once, so it makes sense that the map will be as huge as possible. According to recent leaks, the map will be 9km², which is more than three times the size of Blackout’s.
