GTA Online Is Apparently A ‘Massive Cause Of Rage Quits’

Whether we’d like to admit it or not, I think at some point in our lives, most of us have rage quit a game.  This could be down to a number of reasons: such as an unforgiving boss fight, falling off a cliff at the exact same point over and over again, being killed by a lowly grunt in a game with a poor checkpoint system or losing a game of FIFA/PES in the dying seconds.

This topic was recently brought up on Reddit where a user by the name of TehBlackNinja detailed an experience they had while playing GTA Online. At the time of writing, the post has nearly 20,000 replies and over 26,000 up-votes, many of which also share their frustrations with GTA Online.

TehBlackNinja explains that while playing GTA Online, a hacker dropped in-game currency to his account without his permission, which as a result, got him permanently banned from playing the game.  Now of course we could say “just start up a new account”, but when you’ve invested 1,300 hours into any game, to lose that kind of dedication, is a huge demotivator in anyone’s book.  So in TehBlackNinja’s case, I think a full-blown rage quit is quite understandable to say  the least.

Hundreds of people also flooded the post with their own problems in GTA Online, with the overwhelming number of gamers saying that GTAO is their main source of rage and frustration.

For me personally, I’ve lost count to how often that has happened in my life, but two such examples that comes to mind. Firstly, losing an online game of PES 2020 after the opponents goalkeeper had performed like a son of Krypton. Secondly, another moment that will haunt me until my end of days, is that closing level of that abomination that is Rambo: The Video Game and to this day, to my last breath, I will forever hear the words “Come on comrades, he’s a man, not a god!”  Those words still sends shivers down my spine.
