The digital age is a marvel and there’s nothing like a good techno mystery to get your brain cogs into gear. If you’re well-versed in your ARG thrillers and you know your conspiracies like the back of your hand, you might be ready for a new (fictional) thriller in GREYHAT.
Upcoming indie game GREYHAT puts you in the shoes of an infamous hacker-for-hire, and it’s up to you to hack into computers, find clues as you snoop through peoples’ files, and infiltrate the best of the best as you try to solve the mystery of your missing daughter.
Blurring the lines between a hacking sim and a fully-fledged thriller/mystery adventure, GREYHAT is definitely going to appeal to you if you’re into your tech and if you love a little complexity from your video game stories.
Delving a little more into the world of GREYHAT, the game’s official description reads: “One day, you complete a job only to discover that you have crossed some very powerful people, and in their revenge your daughter is taken.
“To right this wrong you must hack into other people’s computers, look through their files, read their emails, mess with their software, and find clues that may lead you closer bringing your daughter home.”
Explored entirely from the perspectives of the desktops you hack, GREYHAT definitely checks the boxes when it comes to being one of the most unique games we’ve seen in a while.
If GREYHAT is sounding right up your alley, you’ll be glad to know that you don’t have too long to wait until launch, as it’s coming to Steam on August 31. More excitingly, the game demo is available right now, so why not give it a go?
