Halo Infinite Multiplayer Has Battles Passes That Won’t Expire

It has been revealed that the Halo Infinite multiplayer will have battle passes that won’t expire as confirmed in a recent overview video. In an in-depth video from 343 Industries, they explained some of the many features we can expect to see in the Halo Infinite multiplayer.

Unlike the main campaign, the multiplayer side of Halo Infinite will be free-to-play. In the 12-minute video, the developers revealed that they’ll be no time limit on how long it will take to complete the battle pass.

The battle pass will be paid for as a way to support the free-to-play aspect. However, unlike other battle passes in a variety of other games, they’ll be no time limit or expiry date. Once you have purchased the battle pass in Halo Infinite it will remain with you until you’ve completed it.

Many other battle passes will have a time limit, which players will naturally progress to claim all the rewards as quickly as possible. Battle passes are a great way to support games, especially those that are free-to-play.

However, sometimes life can get in the way and for whatever reason, you might not be able to complete the battle pass you paid for. Which of course, is pretty much money down the drain.

Halo Infinite battle passes will be pressure-free

The Halo battle pass will never be taken away from you,” said lead designer Christopher Blohm. “What I mean by that is, once you buy it, it is yours and it does not expire. In future seasons, you can purchase old battle passes as well as the current battle pass and choose which battle pass to put your progression towards.

The battle passes in Halo Infinite will reward players with cosmetic items for your Spartan, such as skins, equipment, and various other digital goodies. Halo Infinite will also feature no random loot and the developers want the players to know exactly what they are getting in terms of rewards.

It’s just cosmetic

We’re coming at this from a player first mentality, so what that means is that there’s no random loot in this, there’s no loot boxes,” said Ryan Paradis, live design director on Halo Infinite. “It’s very important to us that everyone understands how they unlock customisation content and we have a variety of places where they can do that.

All of these rewards are single source, so you’re never going to be confused where things are coming from. If you can unlock something in the battle pass, we’re not going to let any other player circumvent that by purchasing it out of the storefront.

During the multiplayer overview, it was also revealed that much like other shooters, Halo Infinite will have seasons offering new themes and rewards.

Ryan Paradis added that the seasons in Halo Infinite “will have its own theme and introduce new components, new looks, new gameplay for players, new opportunities to earn and collect cool rewards.

The multiplayer for Halo Infinite is beginning to sound very promising and I hope that it lives up to the expectations set by the series.
