Harry Potter fans were thrilled when they found out that a Pokémon GO style game based on the Wizarding World was on its way. However, it seems like a few are not particularly happy after downloading it.
Since the announcement of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite in 2017, wizards and Muggles alike have been waiting for the mobile game to apparate into our lives. Now, there’s a Dark Mark in the sky as Niantic has finally released Wizards Unite.
Those who live in small villages are having a bit of a nightmare with the game, as they have been complaining that they can’t get anything in their remote locations. Also, people in certain countries or with certain mobiles can’t access the game.

While it might seem like a “riddikulus” idea to think anything could top the runaway success of Niantic’s Pokemon GO, the mobile gaming giant is trying to do that with its own Harry Potter-inspired version.

Announcing the news outside Universal Studios’ Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction, the company confirmed there will be huge Wizards Unite meetings similar to those Pokémon GO Fests — let’s hope they run a little smoother.
Niantic is working alongside Harry Potter‘s Portkey Games to bring Wizards Unite to life. Although the general concept is pretty similar to Pokémon GO, there’s also plenty that’s different as we hop on our broomsticks and prepare to do battle with everything from Dementors to Acromantulas.
According to the official Niantic site, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will combine characters, settings, and creatures from Warner Bros.’ Harry Potter series and the ongoing Fantastic Beasts franchise.
Players will hop on their broomsticks to join the Statute of Secrecy Task Force. Their mission is to keep the wizarding world safe from non-magic Muggles.

As the trailer show, Wizards Unite will be an action-packed outing that hopes to cash in on our love of gaming and J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world. Legendary Potter characters are expected to pop up as we head out from Hogwarts to explore the wider world.
Using your phone’s location services, you will ‘Potter’ around to catch various mythical creatures and expand your collection. Given the overwhelming success of Pokémon GO and our continuing obsession with Harry Potter, it’s hard to see how this one will fail.
