Heavy Rain Studio May Be Working On A Star Wars Game

Recent reports claim that Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human developer Quantic Dream is working on a Star Wars game.

Quantic Dream began life with The Normad Soul in 1999, followed by Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy in 2005. However, between 2010 and 2018, Quantic Dream has been a PlayStation console exclusive studio.

These rumours seem to have originated from French YouTuber Gautoz, who claimed that Quantic Dream chief David Cage has signed a deal with Disney to develop a Star Wars game. It is believed that a previous deal with Sony has now expired.

They now finished their contract with Sony and will be signing with Disney, said the YouTuber. It looks like they will be working on a Star Wars game,” claimed the YouTuber.

The reports from Gautoz were then collaborated by reliable industry leaker Tom Henderson on Twitter.

If these reports are true, it will be the first time that Quantic Dream has worked on a licensed game, especially to the scale of Star Wars.

It will also be interesting to see if the studio will stick to the interactive drama formula. Personally, I quite like the idea of a Star Wars game being told from the signature style of Quantic Dream.
