Here’s Our First Look At The PlayStation VR2 Headset

Sony has finally given us our first proper look at the headset for the PSVR2, as well as another look at the new sense controller.

On the official PlayStation blog, we were finally given a look at the PSVR2 headset. In general, the shape is quite similar to the original, but there certainly are some noticeable differences.

The first PSVR was quite big and bulky, with a mostly black design. Whereas the PSVR2 has opted for a mostly white design, specifically designed to match the PS5. The blog points out how the headset “has a similar shape as the PSVR2 Sense controller, taking on a matching “orb” look.”

According to the blog, steps were taken to improve comfort while wearing the headset. One of these new features is a lens adjustment dial, “so users have an additional option to match the lens distance between their eyes to optimize their view.” The design is also slimmer overall, with a slight weight reduction, and there’s a built-in motor for headset feedback.

We can also see the four integrated cameras on the headset clearly too. As a small touch, similarly to the tiny PlayStation symbols you can find on a PS5 controller, Sony has added the same to the front and back bands of the PSVR2 headset.

Unfortunately, no release date was shared for the PSVR2. Though considering the full design has been revealed, we can likely expect a confirmation sometime this year.
