With Red Dead Online into its second year and Grand Theft Auto Online as lucrative as ever, it’s time to start thinking about what’s coming next from Rockstar Games.
We heard a lot of rumours about a Bully 2 for a while, but now it’s seeming as though that’s off the cards for now. Instead, with the next-generation of consoles looming, it’s looking evermore likely that the next game from Rockstar will be none other than Grand Theft Auto 6. But when?
Well, according to American hip hop group, City Morgue, we could be seeing a new game from R* as soon as next year – if we’re lucky.
The band took to Instagram to tease a collaboration between themselves and Rockstar which has sparked more than just a few rumours about the project they’re working on.

Sadly, this doesn’t necessarily mean we’re going to be getting a new game in 2020. This could simply mean that City Morgue is working on some new tracks for GTA Online.
If GTA 6 is coming as soon as next year then I’ll eat my proverbial hat, though a safe bet is that it’s in the works right now.
As spotted by ComicBook, a new Rockstar jobs listing is looking for an Animation Systems Programmer for a next-generation open world game. If that doesn’t smell like GTA 6 then I don’t know what does.
“Rockstar is currently seeking an Animation Systems Programmer,” the listing reads. “We are looking for an experienced, talented engineer to help us in developing advanced animation systems for large open world character-based games. You should have strong coding skills, a good knowledge and interest in character animation systems, and passion for realistic, high quality character motion.”
Let’s hope that Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming to a console near us sooner rather than later! It’s been six whole years since we got a brand-new addition to the franchise, and GTA 6 could be one of the greatest games of all time.
