Hogwarts Legacy is a wizarding dream judging by the recent gameplay showcase over the weekend in glorious 4K.
The first Hogwarts Legacy gameplay showcase was hosted by the community manager for Avalanche Software, Chandler Wood. He was joined by one-half of XpectoGo and Harry Potter fan, James Whitehead. They were also joined by Hogwarts Legacy director Alan Tew as well as a senior artist, Boston Madsen.
Hogwarts is huge!
During the showcase, we were treated to around 40 minutes of PS5 gameplay footage.
We got a glimpse of the character creation, the halls of Hogwarts, and its residents as well as a tease of its surrounding areas. Just from the snippets of gameplay, the school of Hogwarts looks huge and we can’t wait to explore it for ourselves.
We also got to see how interacting with certain NPCs will initiate side-quests and attending classes is the key to learning more spells as you progress in the game. However, we did learn that there will be no class schedule. By the sounds of it, classes will be scripted to fit in with the game’s narrative.
Combat looks fun
Furthermore, we also saw how combat will work in Hogwarts Legacy. At its core, your character will be able to assign four unique spells which can be activated via the in-game HUD.
Each of the four assigned spells will be identified by its colour scheme which will come in handy in knowing when and where to use certain spells. During combat, you will also be able to parry attacks.
When is Hogwarts Legacy coming out?
In case you missed it, the Hogwarts Legacy Collector’s Edition comes with a floating wand!
