Hollow Knight Silksong Release Date Has Been Delayed

Team Cherry has announced that the highly-anticipated Hollow Knight Silksong will not be released before July this year as initially planned.

With the Hollow Knight Silksong release sounding more like an urban legend at this point, fans have received yet another blow with news of a further delay. This news comes courtesy of spokesperson Matthew Griffin who took to Twitter to make the announcement.

Hollow Knight Silksong Release Date Has Been Delayed

The Tweet reveals that development on Hollow Knight Silksong is “still continuing” but the team is excited at “how the game is shaping up.” It also appears as though the sequel is a lot bigger than initially planned and could be a result of the delays.

Although the announcement has confirmed it will not be releasing before July, it also didn’t give us any hint as to when it will be. Griffin just tells fans to expect more details from us once we get closer to release.”

With Hollow Knight releasing back in 2017, there has been a long wait for the side-scrolling Metroidvania sequel. However, with a large fanbase, the game is set to be an epic experience when it finally comes to Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

What we know about Silksong

As mentioned, Silksong is the sequel to Hollow Knight and although we are still in the dark about a lot of things, we have some ideas as to what to expect. With non-linear exploration, platforming and a new protagonist, the sequel will incorporate old features with a brand new story.

We can expect to hear some more details later in the year but until then, we can only hope.
