A Zelda fan has worked out how to create fireworks in Breath of the Wild using dragon scales, according to a report by TheGamer.

The beloved Nintendo game has provided fans with endless hours of entertainment, many of which have been spent uncovering oddities and quirks within the game’s magical kingdom.
It’s a virtual world where it seems anything might be possible, and it seems fans are still discovering new things to this day.
As seen on Reddit, fans have now uncovered a way to set off fireworks in skies of Hyrule using dragon scales instead of traditional explosives (the last thing Hyrule needs right now is a gunpowder plot).
The discovery was first posted to Reddit by user hiopklin, who recorded their findings in a short video. The trick itself seems pretty elaborate, involving the player crouching on a pile of dragon scales then using Revali’s Gale to propel themselves upwards. This then causes the scales to shoot up into the air in a similar fashion to fireworks.
While the player manages to execute the manoeuvre perfectly first time, it seems like a lot of trial and error will be required to replicate display yourself. As there’s no subtext to the video, it’s hard to tell what parameters are required successfully create the fireworks (like the number of scales required and specific locale).

The dragon scales themselves are not exactly easy to come by, especially since their intended purpose is to be used to upgrade armour and access specific shrines amongst various other things.
The likelihood is that you’ve already spent your scales on something before now, so you’re going to have to go chasing some dragon spirits if you want to get more.

Savvy Reddit users have also suggested that players create a save before sparking the scales, that way you can put on a show without the expense of losing the valuable items. While this might seem obvious, it’s easy to get carried away, especially when it comes to big shiny explosions!
