The esports scene is bigger, better and stronger than ever and it’s fast becoming one of the most lucrative aspects of the video games industry.
As more and more people set their sights on becoming the next Bugha or Ninja, esports is finally being recognised as an actual sport, and you’ll soon even be able to take your skills to a Japanese hotel solely devoted to professional gaming.
The Esports Hotel E-Zone Cyberspace (as it’s called in English) will be opening in 2020 in Osaka’s Nipponbashi district, and will offer high-spec gaming PCs alongside a good night’s rest.
As reported by Fashion Snap, the hotel’s first three floors will be home to over seventy gaming PCs already all geared-up and ready to go ahead with streaming.
The first of its kind in Japan, the esports hotel will be opening its doors in April 2020.
From the sounds of things, the E-Zone Cyberspace hotel will be more focused on gaming than comfort, offering just the bare bones up to the majority of its patrons.
That being said, there will be some fancier suites on offer if you want a cushier experience. These will come complete with their own gaming rigs so you won’t need to leave your room if you don’t want to.
This is definitely going to be a popular place to stay for gaming fanatics visiting Osaka next year, so if you want to book a visit you might want to keep an eye out for more information and pricing!
Unfortunately we don’t know how much a stay in the hotel will set you back, but it’s probably not going to be cheap.
I imagine we’re going to be seeing some pretty popular esports stars booking their flights to Japan right about now…
