The recent delay of the much-anticipated sequel to The Last of Us created a lot of tension in the gaming world. The original installation is often lauded as being one of the greatest games ever created, with the narrative being praised worldwide.
Spoilers in games are not a new entity, in fact, spoiler culture, in general, has grown over the past couple of years with major television shows such as Game of Thrones being subjected to them. Now, it seems the viewing world is in a race to spoil the major plot points first on social media. However, these gaming leaks have divided The Last of Us community. Many have chosen to view them out of pure curiosity, others have chosen to completely block the game from their social media timeline, so the events of the new game are fresh for when it is eventually released.
The leaked videos are quickly being taken down every time they are uploaded. But at this point, there are so many people who will have had access to them that it will soon become impossible to control the takedowns. Without providing the specific spoilers, (we wanted to keep our game mind pure walking into the game) we now know that the game is not afraid to make controversial and dark storylines regarding the main characters. From what has been seen, apparently the user is going to be in for an emotional rollercoaster, some heart-wrenching turmoil, and very incredible graphics. It didn’t seem possible for some of the storylines to become darker than the original, but the leaks would suggest that Naughty Dog is plunging to new depths of darkness with this new title.
We won’t be linking to the videos in question, but if someone really wants to find them it is not too difficult to find them currently. The leaks have been apparently caused by a disgruntled ex Naughty Dog employee who left after a dispute regarding their pay. The footage that is circulating seems to be from the alpha build of the game which is dated from last month. It would be very hard to fake the footage that has been seen, as it is made in the exact style and graphical equivalent of the actual game.
