If a recent leak is to be believed, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity might soon be getting a playable demo.
In September Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was unexpectedly announced for the Nintendo Switch, a sequel of sorts to the original Hyrule Warriors.
The original Hyrule Warriors first released for the Nintendo Wii U in 2014, then for 3DS in 2016, before finally being ported to the Switch in 2018. It is a standalone story to the franchise and a spin-off to Tecmo Koei’s Dynasty Warriors.
As with the first Hyrule Warriors the sequel will once again be developed by Omega Force. However unlike the original game Age of Calamity will be set within the official The Legend of Zelda lore.
In fact, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will tie into Breath of the Wild as a prequel and will be set 100 years prior to the events of the Nintendo Switch title and yes you’ve guessed it, it will depict the story of the Great Calamity.
In terms of gameplay, if you’re familiar with how Hyrule Warriors and Dynasty Warriors plays then you’ll pretty much know what to expect. You’ll be chopping down hordes of enemies to your heart’s content.
However if you want to get an actual taste of how Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will play to learn of any gameplay improvements, then we won’t have long to find out, if the recent leak is to be believed.
Apparently according to Spanish Twitter account Nintendo Leaks, a playable demo might soon be on the way after the news was leaked on Nintendo’s official Korean website.
In the tweet from Nintendo Leaks, the words roughly translate to “New information from Hyrule Warriors the Age of Cataclysm leaked with a Demo of the game coming to the eShop.”
Since then, multiple users have reported seeing the demo on their eShop.
While there is no information as to what exactly the demo will feature or when it will release, the fact that Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is releasing on November 20th, should indicate that any potential playable demo might be just days away.
