Is This Art Book Hinting At A Mass Effect Trilogy Remaster?

It seems as though the heavily-rumoured-to-exist Mass Effect Trilogy remaster isn’t only real, but could be coming as soon as 2021. Supposedly.

A new Mass Effect art book has popped up on Amazon US with a release date of March 23 2021, leading many people to speculate that a game launch could be happening around the same time.

The book, entitled “The Art of Mass Effect Trilogy: Expanded Edition,” might sound like an art book exploring the “Mass Effect Trilogy: Expanded Edition,” but a quick look at the title’s cover sort of debunks this theory.

Going off the book’s cover (which I know you shouldn’t do), the title is simply: “The Art of the Mass Effect Trilogy,” with the (much smaller) phrase “Expanded Edition” along the bottom.

What this suggests to me is that this is an expanded art book which explores the art of the Mass Effect Trilogy, and NOT an art book exploring the art of the Mass Effect Trilogy Expanded Edition. Have I explained that properly? No? Well, take a look at the cover for yourself.

The book’s description reads as follows: “Expanded with hundreds of never before seen works of art, this new edition delves deeper than ever into the sci-fi saga that changed video games forever.

“Contains extensive new material from the DLCs for all three games–including the award-winning “Lair of the Shadow Broker” from Mass Effect 2 and the fan-favorite “Citadel” from Mass Effect 3.

“Experience the evolution of the aliens, planets, ships, and technology that define this iconic science fiction universe, as the developers who brought BioWare’s masterpiece to life take you from the earliest design sketches through to the meticulous final renders.

“Brimming with concept art and commentary, this expanded edition is the ultimate companion to one of the greatest series in the history of gaming!”

Does that sound like a book based on a potential Mass Effect remaster to you? No, me either. So I guess we’ll have to keep dreaming on that one…
