When it comes to video game scents, the last thing you’d want to smell like is Resident Evil. However, against all odds, a collection of perfumes inspired by the gory horror series is now available in Japan. The question is, do they smell like rotten corpses? [via GamesRadar]

That’s right, Capcom has created a set of perfumes to commemorate Resident Evil’s 25th anniversary. Now, I know what you’re thinking; what the hell do they smell like? Well, rather than smelling like a decaying zombie, the scents are based on three of the franchise best-known characters; Leon Kennedy, Chris Redfield, and Jill Valentine.
While you’d perhaps expect each perfume bottle to feature district characteristics, Capcom has opted for a more subtle design. However, if you’re savvy with Resident Evil lore, you will probably recognise that the bottle labels are shaped like each character’s service badges. As for what they actually smell like? Well, the Capcom Store blog post doesn’t actually provide any details. Personally, I reckon there’s going to be notes of sweat, gunpowder and sheer anxiety.

Unfortunately, if you’re looking to get a whiff of these Resident Evil perfumes, you’ll have to either visit Japan or ask someone who lives there to buy them for you. If you are lucky enough to reside in Japan, you’ll be able to snag these nerdy nose pleasers for around $60.
