Jonah Hill might not be the first name you think of when you think of the Batman franchise, but that might all be about to change.
According to Deadline the two-time Oscar nominee is in talks to play a major role in the latest take on the iconic comic book story.

While there’s no clarification on which role Hill could take on, it’s likely that he would appear as a villain. We would be all for him appearing as the Penguin, that has the potential to be incredible.
The new project, which will see Robert Pattinson become the Caped Crusader is being directed by War for the Planet of the Apes filmmaker, Matt Reeves.
The site also reports that Westworld’s Jeffrey Wright is in early talks to take on the role of Commissioner James Gordon.
Pattinson recently spoke out about his anger at his casting being leaked.
Speaking to Variety, the actor explained that he found out that someone had told the press when he was on his way to the Cannes Film Festival.

He said: “When that thing leaked, I was f***ing furious. Everyone was so upset. Everyone was panicking from my team. I sort of thought that had blown up the whole thing.”
Warner Bros. eventually confirmed the news, and announced that the movie would concentrate on a younger Batman than we’re used to.
Pattinson explained that he’d always wanted to do the role: “I’d had Batman in my mind for a while. It’s such an absurd thing to say. I sort of had an idea to do it, and I’d been prodding Matt [Reeves, who’s down to direct the movie]. He didn’t accept any prods. I kept asking to meet him.”
“When I was a kid, it was the only outfit that I had,” he added.

Ben Affleck was originally penned to direct the new movie, however he decided to take a step back. He appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to explain his decision to step away from the role.
“I tried to direct a version of it and worked with a really good screenwriter, but just couldn’t come up with a version – I couldn’t crack it,” he said. “And so it was time to let someone take a shot at it. They’ve got some really good people.”
Reeves took over from Affleck nearly two years ago and has spent the time developing a story to bring the character back to the screen.
