Layers Of Fear & Blair Witch Devs Tease New Cyberpunk Horror Game

Bloober Team, the developers behind horror hits including Layers of Fear and Blair Witch are teasing their next project, which is set to be a cyberpunk scare-fest.

The team took to Twitter to share a short video which doesn’t give too much away…at first glance, that is. As you can see below, the clip shows some grainy footage along captioned with: “>new_incoming_call_
>sig: ch120n 1nc02p02473d_#cyberpunk #blooberteam #horrorgame

Though it doesn’t look too exciting, one eagle-eyed Twitter user translated the binary code shown in the video, and it looks like the mystery project could be a sequel to Bloober’s 2017 hit, Observer. The binary apparently translates into: “Daniel are you there?”

Of course, this is looking like a reference to Daniel Lazarski, protagonist of Observer.

Further evidence of this being an Observer sequel comes from the hashtags used by Bloober, which confirm the game is both a cyberpunk title and a horror – putting it in the exact same genre as Observer.

If you haven’t played Observer it’s an absolute gem of a game that I highly recommend. I actually (and controversially) prefer it to Layers of Fear, so a sequel is right up my alley.

The game’s official description reads: “What would you do if your fears were hacked? >observer_ is a cyberpunk horror game from Bloober Team, the creators of Layers of Fear. Play as an Observer, the new front line of neural police, as you hack into the jagged minds of the insane.”

If what Bloober is teasing isn’t a direct sequel, it’s safe to say it’s set in the same world as Observer, so colour me excited.

There’s no further news on the tease as of yet, but we can hopefully expect to see something more from the team in the coming months, if not weeks.
