A leaked image shared to Reddit has once again fuelled rumours of an unannounced Xbox console. In a now-deleted post, a user shared an image of what appears to be a white Xbox controller, though it looks different to both the Xbox One version and the Xbox Series X.

The user has since gone on to delete their Reddit account, though they did say they snapped the pic during a party at a Microsoft employee’s home. The image was picked up by VGC before its deletion.
The user also spoke to The Verge where they said they had the chance to play on the console, which was also white, but “looked more squarish and the Xbox button looked bigger on it.” The UI reportedly looked similar to the Xbox One.

It seems what we have here is a controller (and console) that has yet to be announced to the public, as the image and the description don’t quite match with what we’ve seen of Series X so for. If this is the case, what we could be looking at here is the rumoured all-digital version of the Series X.
We already know the PlayStation 5 will launch with a disc drive version, alongside a (presumably cheaper) all digital-version, and it seems as though Xbox is planning the same move.

The rumours saw more solid proof earlier this summer, when security research user TitleOS shared a document referencing both the “Anaconda” consoles (Series X) and the “Lockhart” consoles, which have yet to be revealed [via VGC].
It’s believed that the codename Lockhart console will be the cheaper version of the Series X, but other than that, not too much is known about the differences between the models.
Could the leaked Reddit image be the Lockhart console? Only time will tell!
