But as always, pinch of salt needed.

Rumour: PlayStation 5 May Struggle With ‘True’ 4K

The next generation consoles, the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, have yet to have their prices revealed, but speculation on their costs – and their true capabilities – has been rife for a while now.

Video games leaker, AestheticGamer, who’s best known for leaks on the upcoming Resident Evil game RE Village, recently took to Twitter to share some supposed knowledge on the two consoles. As always with leaks like these, take the rumour with a hefty pinch of salt until we hear more.

According to AestheticGamer, the Xbox Series X won’t only be the more powerful of the two consoles, but also the cheapest. The leaker claims that the PlayStation 5 is currently struggling with running 4K games natively, and said we may see “‘fake 4K'” when the console launches.

They tweeted: “People [..] should get ready for the really real possibility that the PS5 is going to end up being the more expensive console between the two, I’m trying not to say much here as I was asked not to but prepare yourself, which does put Xbox X in a position it’ll be the less expensive and more powerful console.

“I used RE8 as an example, but I’ve heard from other devs that PS5 struggles with 4k games in particular so you’ll see a lot of fake 4k. That doesn’t matter to some, but get ready for that too. Xbox X doesn’t have the same problem.”

Although we have no idea how true the claims may be, we do at least know that the Xbox Series X is more powerful than the PS5. In case you need a refresher you can compare the two systems right here.

Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to find out more about the pricing and capabilities of both the next-gen consoles. The Xbox Series X and PS5 are due to land on store shelves in Holiday 2020.
