Lollipop Chainsaw Is Making A Comeback, But As What?

Lollipop Chainsaw from famed developer Suda 51 is making a comeback. However, at this time, we have no idea what it will be.

Lollipop Chainsaw is celebrating its 10th anniversary since its launch for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012. The game features Juliet Starling voiced by Tara Strong and is a cheerleader zombie hunter in a post-apocalyptic world.

Bring in the big gunns!

Lollipop Chainsaw was not only created from the imaginative Suda 51 but James Gunn of Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad was brought in as a writer. Furthermore, the music was also composed by the legendary Akira Yamaoka of Silent Hill.

Was this a perfect hack and Slash game? No, it wasn’t. However, leaving your zombie brain at the door, it was a fun game. To be honest, it’s surprised me that it’s taken 10 years for the seeds to be planted for its return.

Lollipop Chainsaw is back by Dragami Games. Please look forward to it,” teased Yoshimi Yasuda in a tweet, the former CEO of Kadokawa Games.

Annoyingly, Yasuda did not state whether Lollipop Chainsaw will be back as a sequel, remake, or remaster. Heck, it could even come back as an anime series, I suppose. Thinking about it, an anime would be awesome.

How will it return?

If I was going to take a guess, I would imagine if Lollipop Chainsaw was going to get a sequel, a bigger deal would have been made, rather than a simple tweet. Furthermore, even though Lollipop Chainsaw had its fans, it’s debatable whether it would generate enough interest to justify a sequel.

The Best Horror Games To Play Right Now

That said, it wouldn’t surprise me if the game returned as a remaster on modern consoles as well as PC. Additionally, with its easy-to-pick and-up play gameplay, Lollipop Chainsaw could be an ideal game to play on the Switch while on the go.

Were you a fan of the original Lollipop Chainsaw and how would you like or think it will return? Let’s speculate across our social media channels.
