Yesterday (June 11) saw the reveal of one of Insomniac Games’ next big titles, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The trailer showed Mr. Morales getting suited up in a very cyberpunk-looking New York City.

Though just a teaser, the announcement has definitely piqued the interest of many a fan, in no small part due to the mammoth success of 2018’s PlayStation 4 exclusive, Marvel’s Spider-Man.
However, since the reveal, new details on the game have now emerged, and it’s apparently less of a whole new game, and more of an “expansion” to the 2018 title.

In an interview with The Telegraph, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s EVP head of European Business, Simon Rutter, spoke a little about the Miles Morales title, and how it fits into the bigger picture of Insomniac’s plans.
“I guess you could call it an expansion and an enhancement to the previous game,” he said.

“There’s a substantial Miles Morales component – which is the expansion element – but also within the game as well there’s been major enhancements to the game and the game engine, obviously deploying some of the major PlayStation 5 technology and features.”
Still confused? Yeah, me too. The Telegraph elaborates on the explanation, writing: “Rutter clarified it’s actually more akin to an expansion bolted onto an upgraded version of the original title.”
I think what we’re probably looking at is an Uncharted: Lost Legacy situation, in that Miles Morales is a new story, set in the same world, and sharing the Uncharted name.
Whatever we get, I’m more than hyped for it! The announcement trailer shown off during Sony’s PS5 event was absolutely mind-blowing, and I’m so ready for anything Insomniac wants to throw our way! In case you missed the trailer, check it out below!
