Marvel’s Spider-Man is nearly two years old, but the PlayStation 4 mega-hit is still surprising players to this day. We already know it’s an incredibly detailed game, but Reddit has discovered something you might have missed.
(I imagine that someone, somewhere will have noticed this before, but judging by the 21k of upvotes on the post, it’s not exactly widely known).
The user shared the following clip, which shows them climbing a fire escape as the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. Interestingly, it looks as though a unique set of animations have been crafted specifically for this action – something which is easy to miss if you don’t explore every nook and cranny of NYC.
The Redditor notes that even after two complete playthroughs of the game, this is the first time they’ve noticed it. Check it out in the video below.
[Video] I finished Spider-man twice and i had no idea there was an animation for this kind of climbing from r/PS4
It’s great to see there’s still things to discover in Spider-Man – hopefully the same will be true for the recently-announced Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Speaking of the upcoming game, Insomniac said the following: “At Insomniac Games, we’ve loved the character of Miles Morales for a long time. It started years ago, when Bryan Intihar (Creative Director, Marvel’s Spider-Man), suggested that we should have Miles Morales be a part of the same universe as Peter Parker. We sneakily introduced him at the end of our E3 2017 demo, surprising the audience when they thought the PlayStation Briefing was over.
“As we continued with the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, we knew that Miles’s origin story as a Spider-Man was something that needed its own game. Miles’s multicultural background reflects a more modern, diverse world and we wanted to give players a new story, with new set-pieces, fresh villains, and unique quests across Marvel’s New York City. This had to be a can’t-miss next adventure in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe.”
Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be headed to PlayStation 5.
