The developers of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 have announced just how big the game will be, confirming the team has included every single airport in the entire world.
According to the hardworking devs, a whopping 37,000 airports were manually edited by the team for the game, making this one of the most exciting additions to the Xbox Game Studios line up.
In a new update video for Flight Sim fans, lead game designer at French studio Asobo, Sven Mestas, revealed just how much work has gone into FS 2020.
Back in 2006, Flight Simulator X was more than impressive, boasting a huge 24,000 airports, but it seems that FS 20 is going even further both in terms of size and in detail.
As you can see in the video below, the sheer range of airports is astonishing. From huge, sprawling international airports to teeny-tiny airstrips, there’s going to be a LOT to discover in this game.
Of course, the team couldn’t show off 30,000-plus airports in the video, but they did share a look at Szombathely Airfield in Bulgaria, John F. Kennedy International Airport, and Aspen Pitkin County Airport, to name a few.
The level of detail really is incredible, with each airport boasting day-to-night changes, bustling and busy people, and – of course – hyperrealistic environments. There’s even animated ground crew, and by using official data for some of the biggest airports, even nearby signage is true-to-life.
With the overwhelming amount of love and detail being poured into this game, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is definitely going to be a stand-out release for the year.
Check out everything that’s set to make this one of the best simulation games of all time in the video!
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 will be available on Windows 10 and Xbox One, later this year.
