Midnight Ghost Hunt Is The Multiplayer Ghost-Hunting Game You Always Wanted

Sometimes the premise of a game seems so simple, so effective and so exciting you have to wonder how it’s never really been a thing before. Midnight Ghost Hunt is sounding like exactly that type of game, offering up ghost-hunting adventures with a splash of multiplayer.

The game, first shown off during E3 earlier this year, comes from Vaulted Sky Games, and has just begun its third Alpha testing.

Over on Steam, the game’s official description reads: “MIDNIGHT GHOST HUNT IS A GHOSTLY MULTIPLAYER HIDE-AND-SEEK GAME!

“Play as either Ghosts or Ghost Hunters. The Ghosts hide inside inconspicuous furniture and hurl themselves at invading Hunters.

“The Hunters must find and destroy all of the Ghosts before the clock strikes MIDNIGHT. At MIDNIGHT, the lights flicker off and all dead Ghosts return as vengeful spirits!

“The tables turn, the Hunters become the Hunted! They must try to survive the Ghost onslaught until they can escape.”

Sounds pretty spooky! Check out the E3 teaser trailer below.

Over on Reddit, the game has been favourably described as looking “like the lovechild of Luigi’s Mansion and Overwatch,” with a dash of BioShock thrown in there.

Call me stupid, but that definitely sounds like a winning combination in my book.

Unfortunately for those who didn’t snag themselves an Alpha key, the game is still under NDA, meaning we won’t be seeing any streams for a while. That being said, those who have played definitely seem to be impressed with the offerings so far.

MGH currently has a release date of “TBA” on Steam.
