The world might be a little in love with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone right now, but that doesn’t mean there’s no love for some of the more classic CoD games. Right now, modders are busy working on recreating the multiplayer mode of Modern Warfare 2 Remastered – within Black Ops 3.
The need for such a feat comes from the fact that the recently-released Modern Warfare 2 Remastered launched without a multiplayer mode – something which has left a lot of players feeling more than just a tad disappointed.

However, the modding community has stepped forward with their solution, created entirely within Black Ops 3.
The news comes via Mp1st, where it’s reported that a gamer named Andy is working with other modders to bring the multiplayer back to life. Not too many details have been given so far, but we have got a nice screenshot of the Rust map, which you can see in Andy’s tweet below.

Andy tweeted: “I’ll let the cat out the bag. A team of us are remastering MW2 Multiplayer in Black Ops 3! We will have a public discord and twitter soon giving you all the answers to your questions.. for now enjoy this early screenshot of Rust!”
If the screenshot is anything to go by, we’re in for a real treat with this one. Other people in the modding group, including LeonLionHeart, have also expanded on what’s happening with the fan project.
LeonLionHeart tweeted: “NexusCore Black Ops 3 Servers for (MW2R:MM) #MW2RMultiplayerMod Will be going in pre-testing phase. The goal is to stress test the servers for launch and collect data on performance usage. I will let everyone know when testing is about to begin on their Discord.”
If this is a project that’s whet your appetite, you can find out more via the team’s Discord server right here.
