Multiple EA Titles Are (Finally!) Coming To Nintendo Switch

EA hasn’t really invested too much time or effort into the Nintendo Switch, choosing to publish its games on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One over the Nindy console. For those desperately wishing for more EA games on Switch, it seems the wait is nearly over as multiple titles will be dropping on the platform this year. Hooray!

The news came in a recent financial sales briefing, in which EA said that we’ll be seeing a number of its games on the Switch before the end of 2020. What we didn’t get to hear, however, is exactly which games can be expected.

EA has an incredibly vast back catalogue of games that would be perfect for the Switch, including the likes of the Dead Space trilogy, the Mass Effect games, the Dragon Age series and even titles like The Sims.

The Switch has proven its capabilities since its launch, despite its small size. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is massive and flawless, and the Switch port of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt manages to impress even in handheld mode.

Whether or not EA’s change of heart is going to mean we’ll be seeing future titles appearing on the Nintendo eShop remains to be seen, but it’s a great start to hear that the console will be getting at least a few EA games!

In the same briefing, Electronic Arts COO Blake Jorgensen announced plans to offer “free upgrades” for games once the next generation of consoles drops later this year.

He told investors [via GamesRadar]: “This year the phasing includes the effect of revenue recognition from the games we are launching for the current generation of consoles that can also be upgraded free for the next generation.”

Though he doesn’t specifically mention the PS5 and Xbox Series X, it’s likely this is what he’s referring to. Nice job, EA!
