Multiple Origin Stories And Starting Locations Feature In Cyberpunk 2077

If CD Projekt Red’s next game, Cyberpunk 2077, didn’t have you hyped up enough already, it’s just been confirmed that the game will offer multiple origin stories and starting locations for your character.

Corresponding with VG24/7, Cyberpunk‘s lead quest designer PaweÅ‚ Sasko confirmed the news, and it sounds pretty darn exciting.

“The player in Cyberpunk 2077 can create a custom character that has one of three origin stories, that we call lifepaths,” said Sasko.

“You can be Nomad, Corpo or Street Kid. Each of the lifepaths has a different starting location and story background that are strongly connected with the origin story.

“Anything more I say can reveal too much from the story, so I will leave it like this.”

This is definitely going to be a game you play more than just the once.

In case you didn’t know, you play as V, a character who you can customise to be male or female, and who you can deck out in whatever gear you like for a perfectly tailored playable character.

The only in-game character who has nearly as much dialogue as V is played by the one and only Keanu Reeves, who announced his participation in the game during E3 2019.

CD Projekt Red today confirmed that the studio isn’t working on three different Cyberpunk projects, as reported yesterday.

A mistranslation during a briefing call led to the incorrect understanding that the company is doubling down on its new IP, though CD Projekt Red has since said this isn’t the case.

Right now the team is hard at work completing its only (for now) Cyberpunk game.

Due to release in April next year, Cyberpunk 2077 is already touted to be one of the most impressive games of 2020, despite some hefty competition.
