Nadeshot found himself on the receiving end of a lecture this week, and it didn’t come from another player. After some heated Call of Duty trash talk on stream, the former pro ended up debating his wife over whether he’d gone too far. The clip has since gone viral, and his defence has fans in stitches.
What did Nadeshot say?
The moment kicked off during a Capture the Flag match. Another player, described in the clip’s caption as a kid, started chirping in the lobby. Nadeshot wasted no time firing back.
“I can hear your voice rattling off that sheet metal in that trailer park, brother,” he said. He then praised the “acoustics” in the trailer, calling them “unreal.” The other player responded by calling Nadeshot washed up.
Unbothered, Nadeshot summed up his view of the series. “That’s what Call of Duty’s all about,” he said, “talking sh*t in the lobby.”
How did his wife react?
His wife clearly wasn’t convinced. Shortly afterwards, Nadeshot found himself explaining that the trailer park comment was only a joke. He insisted that he was simply trying to be funny and entertaining for his stream, and that everyone in chat understood it.
He also clarified that he never actually called the player poor. Then came the line that has fans laughing most. Asked whether there was a world where he meant it, Nadeshot admitted: “Because it’s a Call of Duty lobby? Maybe.” Still, he argued it was a joke either way.
He even claimed his insult was “pretty PC” by Call of Duty standards. Turning to his chat, he added that she “doesn’t know about the culture, gentlemen.”
Did the kid get the last word?
In a way, yes. Nadeshot admitted that being called washed up stung a little. “He got a little personal,” he joked, saying he thought they were “just being rude to each other.”
For a former pro, that jab clearly landed. After all, few insults hit harder in gaming than being told your best days are behind you.

Who is Nadeshot?
Nadeshot, real name Matthew Haag, is one of the most famous names in Call of Duty history. He rose to fame as a star player for OpTic Gaming, where he became one of the scene’s most recognisable faces.
He later founded 100 Thieves in 2017, which has grown into one of the biggest esports and lifestyle brands around. Even so, he still streams Call of Duty regularly. As this clip shows, he hasn’t lost his competitive streak, or his love of lobby banter.
Is trash talk allowed in Call of Duty?
Trash talk has been part of Call of Duty for as long as the series has had online lobbies. In fact, Activision has said that friendly trash talk is fine, as long as it doesn’t cross the line into harassment. The publisher also uses voice chat moderation to catch more serious abuse.
That balance sits at the heart of this clip. To Nadeshot, a trailer park jab is standard lobby fare. To his wife, it sounded like he was picking on a kid. Plenty of viewers have taken sides, which is exactly why the clip has spread so quickly.
Nadeshot is far from the only big name enjoying Call of Duty lately. Even Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has admitted to camping in multiplayer. Meanwhile, the series keeps growing beyond games, with a Call of Duty movie on the way in 2028.
Either way, one thing is clear. Nadeshot can handle a lobby full of trash talkers, but losing an argument at home is another story.
