A hidden Jedi Survivor Easter egg has finally been discovered, more than three years after the game launched. Respawn’s 2023 Star Wars adventure was already packed with secrets. However, this one stayed hidden in a menu that almost every player has opened countless times.
Who found the Jedi Survivor Easter egg?
The secret was uncovered on November 1 by a player called TowerBunga, who shared it on Reddit and X. It didn’t take long for the discovery to get an official stamp of approval.
According to Kotaku, Respawn UI director Jordan DeVries confirmed the find himself. Interestingly, DeVries had teased the hidden secret back in 2025. On Reddit, he joked that waiting for someone to find it had felt like a very long three years.
How do you trigger the Jedi Survivor Easter egg?
First, you’ll need to defeat Spawn of Oggdo. This giant frog is an optional boss and one of the toughest fights in the game, so the Easter egg is a reward for players who stick at it.
Once it’s beaten, head back to the Mantis and use the ship’s meditation point. From there, open the skill tree menu.
Next comes the clever part. At the skill tree, enter the famous Konami code: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, Start. Crucially, you need to enter it really slowly, or it won’t work.
What happens when you enter the Konami code?
The result is gloriously silly. Spawn of Oggdo suddenly appears out of nowhere in the menu screen. Then the giant frog lunges forward and takes a huge bite out of the moon in the background.
It’s a short moment, but it’s a perfect nod to one of the most hated bosses in the series. Fans of Jedi: Fallen Order will also remember Oggdo Bogdo, the original frog nightmare. So the joke works on more than one level.
Isn’t this the game with the painted Mogu?
Yes, Jedi Survivor already had plenty of brilliant secrets. One fan favourite shows a group of droids painting a portrait of a Mogu, a large furry creature. However, players spotted that one within the first week of release.
That makes this new discovery even more impressive. Millions of players have opened the skill tree menu since 2023, yet nobody stumbled onto the secret. Of course, few people would think to enter the Konami code there, let alone slowly.
Why are hidden secrets like this still being found?
It’s not unusual for game secrets to stay hidden for years. Just recently, fans discovered that a GTA 4 ringtone can ruin a mission, nearly two decades after launch. Similarly, players are still uncovering odd details like GTA 5’s strip club camera quirks.
For developers, these moments can be just as rewarding as they are for fans. Hiding something and waiting years for players to spot it takes real patience. DeVries’ reaction shows how satisfying it is when someone finally cracks it.
For completionists, it’s also another reason to revisit the game. Along with the new Steam Achievement Sets, there’s plenty of reason to go back for one more run. Just make sure you’ve beaten that frog first.
