Stop what you’re doing right now, because Naughty Dog is reportedly working on a remake for The Last of Us, to release on PS5.

The Last of Us first released in 2013 for the PS3, before being remastered for the PS4 in 2014. This Naughty Dog classic is without a doubt one of my favourite video games of all time, and I know I share that sentiment with a lot of fans.
So despite putting in countless hours in both versions of The Last of Us on PS3 and PS4, you can count me in for the reported PS5 remake.
The report of The Last of Us remake comes from the ever-reliable Jason Schreier of Bloomberg. According to the Bloomberg report, a team led by Michael Mumbauer formed a new studio for Sony, and they were to work on The Last of Us remake.
However, it has been reported that Sony has shifted the alleged The Last of Us remake over to Naughty Dog, who is of course the creator of both games in the series.
Following a disbanding of Mumbauer’s development team, he and many other developers left Sony and according to Bloomberg, Mumbauer and Sony have declined to comment on the report.

Obviously, at this time these are unconfirmed reports, at least from Sony and Naughty Dog. However, over the years Jason Schreier has proven to be one of the most reliable journalists in the industry, so I have no reason to not believe what he says.
Personally, I am super excited by this news and with a bit of luck, all will be revealed at some point this year.
