Assassin’s Creed Odyssey might still be one of the best RPGs out there, but fans of the series have been looking towards the next addition to the franchise for a while now. Sadly, there’s been no official confirmation on the upcoming 2020 game, but multiple sources have claimed it’s going to be called Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok, and will focus on the Viking period.
Despite the fact these rumours have been circulating for over a year now (so many sources have said the leaks are true, leading many fans to accept the news without question), another new voice has popped up to claim that AC Ragnarok isn’t happening – at least not in the form we’d come to expect.
The new info comes via YouTuber and gaming streamer xJ0nathan. Taking to Twitter to share their insider info, the user tweeted the following [translated via Google Translate]:
“Some info on the next AC: – It will be good with the Vikings – It will not be called Kingdom (nor Ragnarok normally) – The secret blade will be back – The shield too – The main character should be a woman (but we can still choose a man).”
If this is true, it seems the title “Assassin’s Creed Ragnarok” is no more – though a focus on Vikings seems to still be the case.
They added: “- He / she should not be called “Jora” – Scandinavia won’t be the only game territory – Still in RPG mode (+ than Odyssey) – Lots of “supernatural”, content related to the First Civilization – No coop – Outing still planned for the end of the year.”
According to the source, a game reveal is coming “very soon,” most likely within the next few weeks.
As always with leaks like this, take them with a pinch of salt, but xj0nathan is a fairly reliable source.
