A new Little Big Planet game, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, has just been confirmed for the PlayStation 5. Shown off with one of the most adorable trailers of 2020, the game is coming from developer, Sumo Digital.
Sumo Digital are no strangers to the world of Sackboy. They’ve worked on various LittleBigPlanet titles in the past, including LittleBigPlanet 3, which came out on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

We’ve always found the LittleBigPlanet games full of charm and it seems Sackboy: A Big Adventure is no different. It looks much more comfortable in a 3D space than LittleBigPlanet does. It also seems like it can be played with multiple players, meaning it could be a perfect game to play with your family and friends.
It will be interesting to see if Sackboy and co have enough in them to fuel a full blown platform adventure game with no building game tied into it. Although building tools may be shown off later this, at the moment, looks like it’s very much a standalone affair.
Hopefully there’s still some way for community involvement though because it was always wonderful to see what the LittleBigPlanet community would come up with… Granted some of the time it was not great but on the occasions the creations worked they really worked!
