Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed is a remake of a game of the same name, released in 2006. The comedy game takes place over around the globe during the 1960s, where you play as an alien invader hell bent on harvesting humanity’s DNA.

The first Destroy All Humans was set in the 1950s, while this remake of the sequel is set in the 1960s. Full of sixties clichés – from hippies in San Francisco to Godzilla off the coast of Japan – the trailer is set to Rammstein’s We’re All Living in America. It even recreates part of the music video.

We’ll have to wait to see what the remake will bring to the table. This nostalgic trend of recreating games from the early noughties seems to be working for THQ Nordic – their remake of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom was very well received. It’s also led to a brand new game to add to the SpongeBob series. Perhaps the same fate awaits the Destroy All Humans franchise.
