Next Batman Game Might Not Be An Arkham Title, Says New Rumour

Ok, here we are again, we’re spinning the ever revolving rumour mill that is the next Batman: Arkham game from Warner Bros. Montreal. Recent teases have suggested that the game will centre on the Gotham criminal organisation known as The Court of Owls, but it doesn’t end there.

It is very easy to assume (as I have), that the next Batman game will still remain in the Arkham franchise, along with Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham Knight (all from Rocksteady Studios) as well as the prequel to the series, Arkham: Origins from Warner Bros. Montreal.

However, the most recent of speculations to be brought up might suggest that we might not be treated to a new Arkham game after all, although it will still remain in the Batman universe. We first heard of this last month, but now more and more industry insiders are seeming to agree.

Some of the recent rumours have suggested that the next game will be a reboot of sorts and if the developers at Warner Bros. Montreal resumes are to be believed, that might certainly be the case.

The reason being, is that Warner Bros. Montreal have listed this new Batman game as a new “IP”, which suggests that this will not only be a new game in a series, but it might also ditch the Arkham name and will spark the first entry of a brand new series. This coincides with rumours of the game being a reboot.

At this time, this is all merely speculation, but it’s certainly got us thinking and we all like to speculate from time to time, especially when leading up to E3 (if the event actually happens this year).

Hopefully we’ll hear more about this project sooner rather than later!
