Ninja Becomes First Ever Twitch Streamer To Hit 10 Million Followers

Twitch is pretty much the biggest livestreaming platform out there, but it hasn’t yet reached the lofty heights of YouTube thanks to having smaller, more gaming-focused fans.

Whilst Twitch isn’t exactly unknown, it definitely hits numbers smaller than YouTube, which is dominated by YouTuber PewDiePie who has the biggest channel on the site.

He boasts (right now at least) close to 65 million subscribers on his channel, whereas the most subscribers to a single Twitch channel is a lot more modest.

Although PewDiePie may have claimed the title for Biggest YouTuber, it looks like the Twitch crown has gone to none other than Ninja.

Ninja has officially become the first Twitch streamer to reach 10 million followers, absolutely trumping his competitors who are yet to break the 5 million mark.

Ninja became a household name after his livestreams of games such as Fortnite made him an internet sensation, and after smashing this Twitch barrier it seems he’s not showing any signs of slowing down.

Announcing his victory royale via Twitter, Ninja wrote to his fans: “First streamer on twitch to ever hit 10 million followers! This milestone is seriously ridiculous and the one I am most proud of. I have been streaming for a very very long time …and I cannot express how grateful I am to be in the position I am in. Love you guys.”

Of course, with great Twitch power comes great amounts of money. Back in March it was reported that Ninja’s net worth sits somewhere around the $3.5 million mark, inspiring thousands of other gamers to take to Twitch in the hopes of following in his footsteps.

Ninja was previously known for his professional expertise with Halo, and has since become the biggest YouTuber and livestreamer in the Fortnite community.
