In an attempt to complete their North American 3DS collection, one Nintendo fan has bought a Barbie game for £1200.
Game collecting is serious business for some people. And sometimes that B in business needs to be capitalised. As older games can set you back a pretty penny. For hard to come by games like Conker’s Bad Fur Day, spending a lot of money might make sense.
One Reddit user recently bought a Barbie game on the 3DS for £1200 ($1600). The user, Galdius, posted on the 3DS subreddit about their purchase of Barbie Groom and Glam Pups, and how it’s their last game they were missing for their NA collection.
Unfortunately for Galdius, they probably should have bought it a few years ago. As further down in the thread, they explained how it used to be around £530 ($700). According to Galdius, the reason as to why it’s so expensive is because of how rare it is. The NA version was only ever released in Canada, funnily enough.
However, Galdius’ collection won’t technically stop there. As likely the last physical 3DS game to ever be produced, Andro Dunos 2, is set to release some time this year. Andro Dunos 2 is a side-scrolling shoot-em-up that was originally released on the Neo-Geo MVS. Last year it received a port to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One, and for some reason, it is also coming to the 3DS. Good thing it’s physical, as Nintendo has announced it is shutting down the eShops for both the 3DS and the Wii U.
