The Legend Of Zelda franchise is one of Nintendo’s best-loved series of games. They’ve been available on every staple Nintendo platform, from the humble days of the NES to the breathtaking sights of Breath Of The Wild on the Switch.
Breath Of The Wild, which launched alongside the latest console from the company, is one of the best-selling games of its era, and it continues to impress people even years after its release.
So, when will we be getting a new Zelda game? Well, it looks like Nintendo is planning something as its currently hiring for a TLOZ project.
Hooray!
Unfortunately, it might not be on the same level as Breath Of The Wild, according to reports…
JapaneseNintendo reports that the company is hiring in Kyoto and is on the hunt for a 3DCG Designer and a Level Designer for game events, dungeons and enemies. Interestingly the post suggests that the next Zelda project might actually be a mobile game…
Now don’t get me wrong, Nintendo has done a stellar job with its mobile games so far, and this year it’s planning to release Mario Kart on the platform, but the limitations of mobile gaming seem to be a world away from where the series was heading with BOTW.
If the next Zelda really is a mobile game, we can probably forget the breathtaking graphics and open-world of BOTW and look back to the likes of handheld Zelda games, Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks.
As the company is only just hiring, it’s definitely going to be a long wait before we find out what Nintendo has up its sleeve…
The #Zelda development team is looking for two new members. One to develop terrain and another to design “dungeons, enemies and game events”. No word on if this is for the next installment on #NintendoSwitch
or the upcoming mobile game. https://t.co/IXoPUppRa8 pic.twitter.com/6nifRse9Ak— NintendoTLDR (@NintendoTLDR) January 29, 2019
