Princess Bowser, Bowsette, Mrs. Bowser…whatever you want to call her, we’re all clearly obsessed with her.
She’s become the biggest meme in the long time, and the fan-created character has gotten her own custom amiibo, a petition to get her accepted into the canon Mario roster, and she’s even been modded into games like Super Mario 64.
Although we all can’t get enough of Bowsette, it seems some people are a bit more obsessed with her than others…
According to a report from VentureBeat and PornHub, a surprisingly large amount of people have been looking for Bowsette-inspired pornography.
PornHub Insights confirms: “Bowsette searches didn’t exist before September 22nd, but appeared first on September 23rd and then grew exponentially.
“On September 26th, 323,179 people searched for ‘Bowsette’ on Pornhub. Bowser also received some additional attention.
“While a few hundred people were already searching for ‘Bowser’ on a daily basis, his searches reached as high as 51,882 on September 26th.
“The dynamic duo shelled out over 500,000 Pornhub searches in just over 72 hours!”
It’s not just PornHub that’s seen a spike, as YouPorn is also seeing an increase in Bowsette searches too.
Maybe Bowsette is here to stay?
Things have developed even further, as fans are petitioning to make Bowsette a canon Nintendo character in the Mushroom Kingdom.
Taking to Change.org, a user by the name of Gabriel Rodriguez writes: “Bowsette, as the internet has named her, is a character merge inspired by the idea of Bowser using the Super Crown to transform into a Peach version…
“The internet has fallen in love with this unlikely combination, and seemingly overnight, artists have created thousands upon thousands of fanart pieces dedicated to the turtle princess. As I write this, #Bowsette is trending on Twitter with over 150,000 mentions (and that’s not including the Japanese hashtag).
“When you explore #Bowsette, you will see alot [sic] of variations of her, main story wise we are thinking of a way to bring her in but we hope Nintendo gives even a glimpse at this character, personally I would love to see her in super smash brothers ultimate even if it is only a thropy [sic] that way Nintendo may accept her existence slowly but surely.”
