YouTuber and icon, PewDiePie, has finally hit 100 million subscribers, becoming the first non-corporate (sorry, T-Series) channel to hit the milestone.
Taking to his channel to unbox the never-before-seen 100 million subscriber award from YouTube, the controversial star also finally managed to snag the elusive number one for Trending Gaming spot on the platform.
It’s a bit of a meme within the PDP community that his content rarely – if ever – appears on YouTube’s Trending list, with lots of people believing this is a conscious choice by the platform thanks to Pewds’ sometimes controversial antics.
Not only is the 100 million subs a fantastic milestone, but so is reaching number one on Trending for Gaming! Well done, Pewds!

At the time of writing, the unboxing video has 1.8 million likes to 18k dislikes.
It’s been a great year for the content creator, who earlier this summer married his long-term girlfriend, Marzia Bisognin.
The unboxing video comes a little late thanks to his honeymoon, but love didn’t stop Felix taking to Twitter after hitting the milestone to express his gratitude.
“We did it! What an unreal achievement!” he tweeted. “100 000 000 thanks to all of you for the endless support and effort! I don’t feel worthy, but I’m forever grateful.”
He then celebrated with a 12-hour-long livestream to mark the occasion.
The milestone comes just a couple of months after Pewds started a Minecraft Let’s Play on his channel, which has caused a huge surge in the number of players (and YouTubers) once again hitting the Mojang servers.
The first episode of the Minecraft LP sits at 34 million views at the time of writing, with subsequent episodes pulling in similar numbers of viewers. Safe to say, it’s a hit.
Let’s hope PewDiePie (and Marzia) keep going from strength to strength!
