Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have received an update that will let you catch the legendary Pokemon Arceus, as well as mystery gift Darkrai.
A new patch for Pokemon BDSP has dropped, with the big focus on being a new Pokemon you can catch. New to BDSP, at least. Back in the original Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Arceus and Darkrai were event Pokemon you could only get through special means.
Except the problem with Arceus was that its special event that used the Azure Flute was never officially released. It was given out at certain events, but the small bit of story involving it was only ever available through hacking.
Well, thanks to this new update, players can finally officially get Arceus by using the Azure Flute. There is a catch though: players will also need Pokemon: Legends Arceus save data.
If you do have Legends Arceus save data, you need to head to your house to pick up the flute. After that, head to Spear Pillar on Mount Coronet and play the flute. Then, your fight with Arceus will begin, so make sure you’re prepared. For Darkrai though, thankfully you do not need any kind of save data.
To get Darkrai, you will need to download the Member Card item through the Mystery Gift feature between April 1 and May 1. Once you have got the card, head to a locked building north east in Canalave City. You can use the card to open a door, where the short story will kick off, letting you catch Darkrai. So make sure to download the Mystery Gift as soon as it’s available. As The Pokemon Company frequently don’t repeat Mystery Gift events like this.
The update also now lets you trade Pokemon worldwide at the Global Wonder Station in Jubilife City.
