Pokemon Themed Converse Line Revealed For 25th Anniversary

The Pokemon 25th anniversary celebrations haven’t stopped yet, as Converse has revealed a line of new products.

Last year was the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon games, celebrating the Japanese release of Pokemon Red and Green. So of course, The Pokemon Company recognised it in a variety of ways. But the festivities don’t seem to be limited to 2021. A line of Pokemon themed Converse products has been announced as the latest part of the celebrations.

There’s a range of products to choose from. It wouldn’t be converse if there weren’t some Chucks. And you have a few options in that department too, though some have already sold out. As well as shoes, there’s a few tops available. You can also pick up a simple but great Jigglypuff sweater. Though that is currently listed as ‘coming soon.’ And there’s a lightning bolt-adorned backpack too.

We’ve seen a variety of merch come out over the last year to celebrate Pokemon’s 25th anniversary. We got an album that featured music from Post Malone. There was a collaboration with crystal glass manufacturer Baccarat, if you’re feeling fancy. And of course, there was the announcement of two new sets of Pokemon games.

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl launched November last year, and have already sold exceptionally well. But Pokemon Legends: Arceus is taking a new approach to the franchise, being set in a past version of the Sinnoh region. With a big number of changes to be found in Arceus, it remains to be seen how fans will take to it. We won’t have to wait long to find out, as Pokemon Legends: Arceus launches January 28.
