PS5 reselling bots are apparently losing interest in claiming all available stock, that’s at least according to a recent report.
When we say bots, we actually mean those humans in control that use the technology to claim all available stock to sell on listing websites for extortionate profits. It’s the main reason why genuine customers have struggled to acquire new-gen consoles as well as limited-edition items.
Could PS5 bots really be losing interest?
In a story picked up by VGC, according to Netacea, a “Quarterly Index” report states that PlayStation 5 consoles acquired by bot technology have fallen down the top five charts. Granted, it’s still at number four. However, given the fact that bots are no longer in the top three, it does perhaps indicate that interest is wavering.
In case you didn’t know, Netacea is a website that is dedicated to tackling bot technology in the hope that genuine customers can buy items at the regular RRP.
“This is the first time the PlayStation 5 has not made the top three in our Index, a reflection of the slight reduction in bots targeting the console due to stock increases,” states the Netacea report. “However, its resale value has remained stable, with only a 2% drop since last quarter.”
According to Netacea’s top five targeted bots chart from July and September 2022, it reads:
- Adidas Yeezy Slide Bone
- Nike Dunk Low Panda
- Panini Donruss Optic Football Trading Cards
- PlayStation 5
- Jordan 1 Retro Low OG UNC
Stop feeding resellers and bot technology
While it’s great news that it appears bots are acquiring fewer PlayStation 5 consoles, the best way to ensure its decline is by the actions we take.
If we stop buying from greedy resellers, we cut off their supply and they will eventually lose the incentive to steal all the stock. So, if bots and resellers annoy you, stop feeding the monster.
