PUBG Announces $2 Million Major Invitational Tournament

You did read that correctly. PUBG Corp has announced that they will be holding an invitational tournament for their smash hit PUBG. Twenty top teams from around the world will battle it out to see who is the last team standing and take home the top prize. The event will be held in Germany from July 25th to July 29th.

This is the first major PUBG esports tournament which is officially hosted by PUBG Corp. This surely solidifies PUBG as an esport and with a prize pool that big it is already one of the top earners.

The teams that will be entered will be from North America, Europe and Asia. They will also have to get through qualifying tournaments.

PUBG’s first and third person modes will both have separate tournaments so don’t worry which ever game mode you love there will be plenty of action for each!

The CEO of PUBG Corp has called the tournament a “showcase of the potential of PUBG esports”. He has also stated that him and his team are working hard to make sure that the tournament will have “all of the excitement, tension and exhilaration of the highest level of PUBG play.”

There have been huge prize pools for esports tournaments and this one for PUBG would actually fit in at number 19 of all time. This is huge for a first official tournament for a game. It could mean even bigger things are on their way for PUBG in esports.
